Lagi-lagi Soal Starter Sulit Saat Pagi Hari

Baru-baru ini perlu 5-6 kali starter baru eljot bisa menyala lagi saat pagi hari. Dugaan sementara ada di sistem penyelaan atau di sistem bahan bakar. Karena gejala ini muncul saat platina sdh mulai habis daya kontaknya tapi diganti baru tetap sama juga sulitnya. Mungkin karburator perlu disetel lagi.

Sebelum utak-atik sendiri di kala waktu luang (jangan pernah percaya dgn bengkel/montir mana pun sebelum Anda mengujinya sendiri!), baiknya kita lihat kitab suci LJ80 Service Manual mengenai Poor Starting.


Possible causes Status
Starter will not run
1. Main fuse is blown off X
2. Contact is not closing in main switch, or this switch is open ciruited X
3. Run down battery X
4. Defective starting relay ?
5. Loose terminal connection on battery X
6. Defective brushes in starter ?
7. Loose battery cord connection X
8. Open in field or armature circuit of starter X
No Sparking
1. Defective spark plug X
2. Short circuit (grounded) fault in high-tension cord X
3. Crecked rotor or cap in distributor X
4. Burnt breaker contact point X
5. Breaker contact gap out of adjustment ?
6. Defective condenser X
7. Contact is not closing positively in main switch, or this switch is open-circuited X
8. Loose or blown fuse X
9. Ignition timing out of adjustment ?
10. Defective ignition coil ?
Faulty intake and exhaust systems
1. Carburetor needs readjustment ?
2. Fuel pump is not discharging adequately X
3. Clogged air cleaner X
4. Defective choke mechanism X
5. Loose intake manifold X
6. Carburetor is dirty and clogged ?
7. Float level out of adjustment X
8. Clogged fuel hose X
9. Not enough fuel in the tank X
10. Clogged exhaust ports X
Abnormal internal condition in engine
1. Ruptured cylinder head gasket X
2. Valve clearance out of adjustment X
3. Weakened or broken valve spring X
4. Loose manifold, permitting air to be drawn in X
5. Worn pistons, rings, or cylinders X
6. Broken valve timing belt X
7. Poor valve seating X
8. Wrong kind of engine oil X
9. Burnt valves X

Setelah dilakukan pengamatan, tersangka utama terarah pada soal yg distabilo kuning:
1. Defective starting relay
2. Defective brushes in starter
3. Breaker contact gap out of adjustment
4. Ignition timing out of adjustment
5. Defective ignition coil
6. Carburetor needs readjustment
7. Carburetor is dirty and clogged

Sepertinya perlu service karburator, bersihkan dan setel ulang. Kalo soal ini mau tak mau harus dibawa ke tukang service. Karena terakhir bersihkan karburator di tukang service tahun 2011 (4 tahun yang lalu!) seharga 100k.
